Team Leader – Residential Children’s Home (Learning Disabilities)

This role is based in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting children with learning disabilities. We seek an experienced, compassionate Team Leader / Deputy Manager to support children and staff, ensuring high standards of care and a safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide leadership and direct care to children with learning disabilities.
  2. Mentor and supervise care staff to maintain high-quality support.
  3. Assist in managing documentation, risk assessments, and regulatory reports.
  4. Monitor behavioural and emotional development of children.
  5. Support children in educational, social, and recreational activities.
  6. Promote safeguarding, positive behaviour, and a child-centred culture.
  7. Ensure compliance with care standards and policies.
  8. Collaborate with professionals, families, and external agencies.
  9. Contribute to a cohesive team environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with learning disabilities or additional needs.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging behaviour professionally.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and residential care practices.
  • Flexible to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence with business insurance.
