Team Leader - Mental Health Focus for Acorn Lodge - Surbiton

Salary: £30,000+

Full Time: The position will be full time and require evening and weekend work as required in accordance with the shift rota (sleep-ins available).

Are you interested in mental health and passionate about empowering others and promoting independence? The Carelodges are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join their team.

This role is pivotal in providing exceptional care and support to service users with mental health diagnoses. As a Team Leader, you'll guide and mentor a team of dedicated support workers, ensuring person-centered care is at the forefront of everything we do. You'll work closely with the Registered Manager to implement care plans, facilitate meaningful activities, and create a positive and supportive environment for our service users.

Experience

Essential Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses. Demonstrate reasonable knowledge of regulatory standards for residential care.

Qualifications

  • You will have a QCF in Health & Social Care Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Medication management training.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Compassionate and person-centered approach to care.
  • Commitment to promoting recovery and well-being.

Desirable Attributes

  • Training in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Support: Provide direct supervision, guidance, and support to a team of care workers.
  • Person-Centered Care: Work collaboratively with service users, families, and mental health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Medication Management: Oversee medication administration in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment for service users and staff.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with service users, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of service provision.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in mental health care.
