Overview

Team Leader - Manufacturing
Location: Coventry
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (with occasional shift flexibility)
Reports to: Production / Operations Manager

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Team Leader with hands-on manufacturing experience. You'll lead a small team of operators, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of operators to achieve daily & weekly production targets.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor workflow, assign tasks, manage shift handovers, and make sure processes run smoothly.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Quality teams to resolve issues quickly and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, inspections, and team performance.
  • Provide feedback and performance reviews, identifying training needs.
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment as a team leader or supervisory role.
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations and lean manufacturing / continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance metrics and take corrective action.
  • Flexible approach to shifts/workload demands.

Desirable:

  • Experience with (or knowledge of) specific manufacturing equipment/processes relevant to our business.
  • Use of manufacturing software / MES / ERP / quality management systems.
  • Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
