Job Description:

Consensus is not just a care provider – we’re a community of amazing people dedicated to inspiring and empowering people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs. If you’re looking for a career where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, then this may be the job for you.

Service: Ellsworth House, Midsomer Norton

Consensus is a certified Great Place to Work and here’s just a small selection of the benefits you’ll enjoy:

  • Career Ladder: Earn up to £13.39 per hour, our dedicated career ladder provides clear opportunities for your future progression.
  • Learning & Development: We want you to succeed - supporting your personal and professional growth with training and qualifications to enable you to achieve your full potential.
  • Financial Benefits: You’ll receive Life Assurance of twice your annual basic salary and can withdraw a percentage of your wages as you earn them before payday with Wagestream. You also have access to Discounts from over 150 retailers through our employee benefits platform.
  • Health & Wellbeing: From confidential telephone counselling, Mental Health First Aiders, dedicated wellbeing support and an Employee Assistance Programme – colleague wellbeing is a priority and we’re here to support you.

Your Role

Through understanding the needs of the people you support, you’ll provide exceptional care that truly changes lives. A career with meaning, you’ll also have a lot of fun, too – from helping with daily tasks to amazing trips that make dreams come true.

  • Help the people we support to engage in meaningful opportunities and activities – empowering them to enjoy a great life filled with amazing experiences.
  • Get involved in the community, support during leisure and social activities, and celebrate special occasions.
  • Lead the team to communicate appropriately, considering individual communication needs, and helping people to communicate effectively with others, too.
  • Engage in learning and development opportunities for the team ensuring that training compliance levels are met and maintained.

Your Service

Ellsworth House is a calm, relaxed house that offers its residents space of their own to support with independence and responsibility. People living here are always involved in decisions about their home, whether it’s helping with meal planning, decorating, or deciding what goes on their events calendar.

Next Steps

Once you’ve applied our dedicated in-house recruitment team will call to share more about the role.
The next step will be an interview in the service, where you’ll meet the team and the people we support.
If successful, we’ll organise your Free DBS Check and references prior to confirming your start date.
Your journey will then begin with a 3-day online induction, before heading to the service to get started.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds. You will already have experience in the social care sector or NHS or may be looking for your next step (Mental Health Support Worker, Care Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant). As long as you come with a person-centred approach, a caring nature, and you are able to demonstrate a commitment to working as part of a team to support disabled and autistic people – then we’re here to provide you with the training and knowledge needed to succeed.
