A leading council seeks a Team Leader for Specialist Advisory Teachers to foster inclusive education for deaf children in Tower Hamlets. This role requires an experienced Teacher of the Deaf with line management skills, focusing on educational outcomes and collaboration with other professionals. Location: Tower Hamlets Learning Advisory Service, 19 Ensign Street, E1 8JD
Hours per week: Up to 32.5 (full time)
Interview Dates: Monday 15 September & Tuesday 16 September 2025
Start Date: Monday 5 January 2026 (Spring Term)
Our team includes Qualified Teachers of the Deaf (QToD) and Sensory Support Assistant posts including our BSL Instructor and Bilingual Family Development Worker. We are part of the wider Learning Advisory Service and we work in close partnership with other specialist teams in the borough and with our partners in the health service. As a team we provide advice and support for deaf and partially hearing babies, children and young people, aged 0 – 25, to promote their inclusion, overall progress and the raising of attainment.
We have new post vacancy for a Team Leader available from January 2026. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Teacher of the Deaf, ideally with previous line management skills, who is familiar with working in an advisory capacity within a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
