The Role

This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role, guiding a team of Sampling Technicians who carry out essential environmental monitoring and sampling for our key clients.The role is primarily office-based, with regular travel required for on-site and fieldwork duties as part of your responsibilities.

Monday to Friday (including standby rota for weekends and bank holidays)
Contract:Full Time and Permanent
Location:Coventry
Annual Salary:£29,690 - 39,960 per annum

Please Note:Due to the nature of work undertaken it is a requirement that satisfactory security clearance is obtained to carry out this role.

The day to day

  • Leading, motivating and managing a team of field-based Sampling Technicians
  • Ensuring high standards inHealth & Safety,quality assurance, andteam performance
  • Providing hands-on support by undertaking sampling duties when needed
  • Planning rotas, coordinating workloads and ensuring efficient use of time and resources
  • Liaising closely with Field Services Project Managers to ensure sampling targets are met
  • Overseeing the maintenance and proper use of vehicles, field equipment and PPE
  • Supporting staff development through regular audits, feedback, and performance reviews

The Essentials
  • Proven experience managing and motivating a team
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A proactive, professional attitude with the ability to work under pressure
  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weathers
  • Competent in IT and digital systems
  • Able to travel across the UK as required
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • A minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent field experience
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Management systems
