Job summary

Bloomberg seeks a motivated Team Leader to oversee sovereign debt data coverage for the EMEA region. You will manage a team of data management professionals, align technical strategy with domain vision, and deliver high-quality data through automated pipelines.

You will partner with Engineering, Sales and Product, mentor staff, and drive data governance, schema improvements, and data ingestion optimizations to support client needs and market-moving information.

Qualifications

• You’ll need at least 3+ years of professional leadership experience.
• Experience in data management roles such as data quality, data modelling, or data engineering.
• Expert-level knowledge of data processing paradigms and related tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of domain experts and data management professionals who are experts in financial data, data analysis, and project management
• Lead large-scale programs (technical and operational) with enterprise-wide impact through effective data governance, cross-team organization, dependency, risk management, and leadership engagement
• Identify and implement improvements to schemas, workflows, automated data ingestion pipelines and operational processes
• Ensure dataset consistency and quality while effectively collaborating with external and internal clients
• Have strong technical skills (python, UNIX, GitHub, data visualization tools) and proven ability in developing automated data ingestion pipelines
• Participate in technical discussions and provide insights on system design, code reviews and other relevant areas

We work closely with Treasuries and Central Banks around the world to onboard their debt securities on Bloomberg in a timely manner, ensuring excellent data quality. Information about the issuance of bonds by governments is time-sensitive and often market-moving, and something a lot of our clients track carefully. By using technology, domain expertise, and relationships with Issuers we aim to be the best data and analytics platform in the market.

What’s the role?

We are looking for a highly motivated and driven Team Leader to support coverage of EMEA sovereign debt data. You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of data management professionals who deliver automated solutions for our clients. You will set the team’s technical strategy to complement the vision for the domain and deliver high-quality data leveraging strong technical, project management and leadership skills. In doing so, you’ll build a close partnership with various internal groups, such as Engineering, Sales and Product.
