Job summary

Selco Builders Warehouse is seeking an experienced Delivery Operations Leader in the UK. You will manage a high‑performing team including HGV and van drivers, pickers and loaders, ensuring safe loading and accurate order picking.

You’ll plan outbound deliveries, monitor driver behaviours and compliance, and drive customer service and profitability. The role focuses on safe, compliant operations, strong leadership, and ensuring orders reach customers on time and in full.

Qualifications

• Experience leading delivery teams (drivers, pickers & loaders).
• Strong planning and scheduling skills for on-time, in-full deliveries.
• Coaching and developing team capability to maintain high performance.
• Customer service orientation with focus on loyalty and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing delivery team including HGV and van drivers, pickers and loaders.

• Work with your team to pick and load customer orders safely and accurately.
• Manage delivery performance, driver behaviours, compliance, and cost controls to meet KPIs.
• Ensure safe, compliant operations with effective delivery capacity and availability.
• Drive excellent customer service and identify opportunities to increase sales and loyalty.
• Coach your team to take ownership and deliver consistently strong performance.
• Support the wider branch management team and cover as the most senior leader on duty during shifts.
• Hours: 37.5 per week.

• Working alongside your team to pick and load customer orders safely and accurately.


• Managing delivery performance, including driver behaviours, compliance, damage and cost controls, to achieve agreed targets and KPIs.


• Ensuring effective delivery capacity and availability while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.


• Driving excellent customer service and identifying opportunities to increase sales, profitability and customer loyalty.


• Coaching and supporting your team to build capability, take ownership and deliver consistently strong performance.


• Supporting the wider branch management team and taking responsibility for branch operations when acting as the most senior leader on duty.


• The working hours for this role are 37.5 per week.
