Essential Qualification: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Leader to join a caring and committed residential team supporting children and young people aged 6–19 with complex needs, including profound communication difficulties, cerebral palsy, autism, and degenerative conditions.

This role is based at a well-established children’s home in Meldreth, offering a supportive and enriching environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain a stable, safe, and nurturing home environment
  • Lead, coach, and support a team of Support Workers and Senior Support Workers
  • Oversee the physical and emotional support provided to young residents, including attending health appointments, family visits, and community activities
  • Support the induction, mentoring, and training of new team members
  • Conduct supervisions, performance reviews, and manage team development
  • Ensure effective planning and delegation of daily activities and individual support plans
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation
  • Participate in on-call duties, sleep-ins, and waking night shifts as required
  • Be prepared to engage in physical intervention and provide personal care when necessary

  • Proven experience in shift/team leading within a care environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
