Job summary

Sgscare is seeking a confident Team Leader for our Children’s Home near Preston. You will lead allocated shifts, coordinate duties and deploy staff according to children’s needs, while ensuring high safeguarding and risk management across the shift.

You will run effective handovers, monitor behaviour, support young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural needs, and escalate incidents when required. The role is permanent, full-time with a 2 on 4 off rotating pattern, including evenings

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent is required.
• Ability to achieve the qualification within regulatory timescales is expected.
• Leadership or management qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead allocated shifts and deploy staff according to children’s needs and risks.
• Run effective handovers and maintain safeguarding, risk and behaviour oversight.
• Guide staff through incidents and challenging situations and escalate as required.
