A children's residential care organization in Sunderland is seeking a Team Leader for their residential home. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, experience in the sector, and a Full UK Driving Licence. You'll lead shifts, support staff, and promote the welfare of children aged 7-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Location: Sunderland
Service: Residential care for young people aged 7–17 (EBD & Mild Learning Difficulties)
Shifts: 8am–8pm and some 8am–8pm + sleep-ins
Base Salary: £27,144 – £36,192
Sleep-In Allowance: £52 per night (8–10 per month)
Earning Potential: Up to £41,184 per year

We have five opportunities available across multiple homes in Sunderland. As a Team Leader, you’ll provide guidance and structure for staff while supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD).

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent – see below)
Prior experience in a children’s residential care environment (or similar)
Confidence managing behaviours that challenge and promoting a nurturing culture
Full UK Driving Licence – essential
Ability to communicate clearly in English (including understanding UK dialects)
Minimum age requirement: 22/23 (in line with regulations)
Other qualifications considered: A Level 3 in Adult Social Care will be accepted if you can show experience of working directly with children.
Leading shifts and providing direction to less experienced staff
