About the role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives? We are looking for a dedicated Team Leader to join a childrens residential care service in the Preston area. Youll be joining a warm and supportive team that provides high-quality care to children and young people with complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), and those who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.

As Team Leader, you will help ensure the smooth running of the service, supporting the management team and leading staff on shift. Youll assign tasks, monitor completion, and ensure a safe, nurturing, and family-feel environment. Your role will include supporting children in their daily lives, encouraging social and leisure activities, maintaining family connections, and upholding high standards of care and safeguarding.

What were looking for
  • Level 3 qualification in Childrens Residential Care (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a residential setting (or similar)

  • Leadership experience is desirable

  • Full UK manual driving licence required

  • Flexible to work long day shifts (e.g., 8am 10pm) and sleep-in shifts (10pm 7am), including staying away from home for a few days at a time

  • Confident in leading and supporting a team to deliver excellent care

What we offer
  • £13.99 £14.99 per hour, depending on qualifications and location

  • Additional £78.30 per sleep-in shift (up to 8 per month, adding over £7,500 per year)
