Job description

Job Title: Team Leader

Location - Burnley

Salary - £37,000 sleep-in with an average of 10 per month

Service: Children’s Residential Home (Ofsted)

Service Users: YP with various needs; EBD, CSE, CCE

Qualifications Required: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care

Experience: At least 1 years’ experience relevant to residential care in the last 5 years

Employment Type: Full Time/ Permanent

The Opportunity

Excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our client's children's residential homes. Our client takes EBD Referrals and the YPs are 6 to 17 on Admission. The referrals are deemed to be low to medium risk.

This is a role thatspecialises in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect, or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.

Our client is an established company that is growing, they offer various children's services such as Family Support, Children's Homes for LD and EBD and Supported Living for Care Leavers. Their service covers the Midlands and North of England.

What you will be expected to do:

  • Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Support Workers
  • To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
  • To provide reports and documentation that reflect the progress of the young person, using our paperless systems and tools
  • To review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation

You will also need:

  • To provide positive parenting
  • To have exceptional communication skills
  • To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Children's Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
  • To be open-minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner

Essential Requirements:

  • Must have a full manual driving licence
  • Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Be willing to participate in further continuing professional development to support the needs of our young people
  • To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
  • To be an active member of the team and be committed to working in unison
