A leading company in the food production sector is searching for a Line Leader to manage a production line in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards and leading a team to achieve production targets. Job description

Job Title: Line Leader

Location: Redditch

Salary: GBP28,787 per year + Annual bonus GBP1690

Hours: Monday- Friday 15:00-23:30

Working Conditions: Temperature between 4C and 8C, wearing required PPE (wellingtons, hair net, beard snood). Prohibited on site: jewellery, painted or fake nails, fake eyelashes, heavy makeup, piercings.

Job Summary: The Line Leader manages a production line and leads a team to ensure compliance with food safety, product quality, and health & safety standards.

General Responsibilities:

  • Follow company training, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Report any food safety, quality, or health & safety issues.
  • Log accidents and safety concerns via the C Fresh App.
  • Use equipment correctly and report defects.
  • Conduct quality checks on product integrity.

Role-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assign tasks and provide instructions to team members.
  • Monitor GMP, food safety, brand integrity, and safety compliance.
  • Resolve local issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Conduct weekly food safety audits.
  • Complete paperwork accurately.
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and contact engineering when required.
  • Report issues efficiently to the Zone Leader.
  • Motivate team members to meet targets.
  • Communicate delays, shortages, and equipment issues.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Support new product, recipe, and process introductions.

Key Accountabilities & Performance Metrics:

  • Maintain GMP score >85%
  • Achieve OCE (plan attainment) >95%
  • Ensure accurate completion of paperwork and CCP checks.
  • Minimise waste and product giveaway.
  • Report any Health & Safety concerns.
  • Uphold food safety, product quality, and brand integrity.

  • Induction, GMP, Site Allergen & Brand Integrity Controls
  • Organic Controls, Traceability & Record Keeping
  • ASC/MSC Awareness, Fire Safety, Food Safety Level 2
  • CCP Awareness, Coaching & Mentoring

  • Happy to work in a cold environment working at between 5 & 8 degrees C (Essential)

Language Requirement: Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking) required.
