Job summary

GTS International in Watford is seeking an experienced Team Leader to manage the day-to-day operations of a busy electronics service and repair centre. You will combine technical expertise with team leadership to ensure high-quality diagnostics, repair and refurbishment of electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment.

You will oversee workflows, prioritise repair queues, act as the technical escalation point for complex faults, manage stock and report KPIs to drive continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or leading a technical team.
• Experience managing staff and contractors daily, weekly and monthly.
• Experience handling meetings, 1-2-1s, reviews, holidays and personnel issues.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills on electronic equipment.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload.
• Confident communicator with a professional, customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of service technicians working on electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
• Oversee diagnostics, inspection, repair and refurbishment workflows to meet quality and turnaround targets.
• Manage repair queues and prioritise workload to maximise efficiency.
• Act as the technical escalation point for complex electronic fault-finding and repair issues.
• Control refurbishment processes, including repair cost limits and final quality checks.
• Approve service quotations and support customer enquiries with technical input.
• Monitor stock levels of electronic components and coordinate with internal teams to ensure availability.
• Track performance, report on KPIs, and drive continuous improvement across the service function.

This role blends technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring high‑quality diagnostics, repair, and refurbishment of electronic and electro‑mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of service technicians working on electronic and electro‑mechanical systems


• Oversee diagnostics, inspection, repair, and refurbishment workflows to meet quality and turnaround targets


• Manage repair queues and prioritise workload to maximise efficiency


• Act as the technical escalation point for complex electronic fault‑finding and repair issues

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience supervising or leading a technical team


• Experience of daily, weekly and monthly management of staff and contractors


• Experience of dealing with employee meetings, 1-2-1's, review meetings, authorising holiday, personnel issues etc


• Solid diagnostic and fault‑finding skills on electronic equipment would be a plus,


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively


• Confident communicator with a professional, customer‑focused approach

Desirable

• Qualification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related discipline


• Experience in a production, manufacturing, assembly, service centre or maintenance environment would be beneficial.
