Job description

We have a vacancy for a dedicated Team Leader to join our team in a Learning Disability unit service in Kilkeel.

The service will be supporting residents with Learning Disabilities and complex needs within their own self-contained apartment to live a full and valued life.

Job type – Full time or Part time, permanent

Salary – Circa £15 per hour

About The Role

Responsibilities and Duties:

The role will require you to work alongside the Home Manager to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of practice. As well as ensuring Company policies and procedures are adhered to. This will involve supporting with quality assurance mechanisms within the Home, namely through conducting audits and delivering subsequent service delivery improvements. Team Leader will be responsible for completing and over-seeing the weekly duty rota and ensuring this is in line with staffing levels required daily. At all times it is vital to maintain effective communication with the Home Manager and the broader Senior Management Team.

The Team Leader will play a major part in supporting our resident to live a full and valued life. You should be able to quickly identify any changes to your residents' needs and be able to deal with these competently always ensuring their safety. It is essential that all records pertaining to the delivery of care of the resident are in line with Care Standards for Residential Homes.

A key aspect of the role will involve the provision of mentorship through supporting and encouraging the care team to manage their own learning, to develop their skills, maximise their potential and achieve proficiency and competency in all aspects of their role.

Candidates must have at least 3 years previous Care Assistant experience and have achieved a minimum of NVQ Level 2 and or working towards Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Additionally, you must have a clear record with regards to professional conduct, performance, and attendance.
