The service you will work in…

You will be supporting the Service Manager and lead in the running of the service, to ensure the delivery of a consistent and high-quality service to women and children fleeing domestic violence. This is in accordance with the mission statement and strategic objectives of Hestia and within the relevant legislative framework.

A day in this role looks like…

As a Team Leader at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Domestic Abuse service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence. A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

1. To ensure that a seamless service is being delivered by working closely with other support providers to have a joined-up approach to addressing support needs. This will include joint working with GPs, health visitors, schools, counselling services, housing, the Police and any other agencies likely to be delivering support services to the service user.
2. Together with the Service Manager work on creating a truly co-produced service.
3. Ensure that women, young people and children are fully involved in the review, planning and delivery of the service and that they receive the support to do so. Every opportunity should be provided to develop their independent living skills either within the service or within their local communities.
4. Ensure that individuals have relevant information about service user activities including information on Hestia's Service User Forum, The Better Lives Forum.
5. Provide monitoring information, both internally and externally, as required.
6. To ensure that all records are kept up to date and are stored in a secure and confidential manner.
7. To carry out regular file checks and to ensure that all information held is accurate and up to date.
8. To take part in supervision and appraisal, and take up opportunities to learn within the team, organisation and externally.
9. To participate in the out of hours emergency on-call rota.
10. To identify and make links with existing projects in the community, to develop joint DA training and awareness where appropriate.
11. To provide management direction, support and advice to the staff team.

We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. To excel in this role, you should possess:

1. Section 7(2) b & e of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 apply to this position – (Only Female applicants Please)
2. Experience of promoting and developing service user involvement/co–production.
3. Experience of working within a multi-agency setting.
4. Previous experience of using computer-based systems to accurately record work and client details.
5. Awareness of risks associated with domestic violence in a working environment.
6. Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to manage complex tasks in clearly defined time frames (including accurate records, reports, case notes and interpersonal communication).
7. To participate in the out of hours emergency on-call rota.
8. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
9. Excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on women and children.
10. Ability to manage staff.
11. Knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing.
12. Working knowledge of the relevant housing law and welfare benefits that apply to women and children using the service.
13. Knowledge of legal remedies available to women experiencing domestic violence.
