Team Leader – Recycling Site (Temp to Perm)

Location : Hartlepool

Working Hours : Monday to Friday | 06:00 – 18:00

Pay Rate Starting from : £13.35 per hour

Agency Overview

Our client, a well-established recycling and waste management operator, is currently recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join their busy recycling site in Hartlepool. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, offering long-term prospects for the right candidate.


Role Overview

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising siteatives, ensuring daily targets are met while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational efficiency. This is a hands‑on role, leading by example on the shop floor.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise and support a team of recycling operatives

  • Allocate daily tasks and manage workloads effectively

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times

  • Monitor productivity and report performance to site management

  • Carry out basic paperwork and shift reporting

  • Support training and induction of new starters

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the site


Health & Safety


  • Enforce site health, safety, and environmental procedures

  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings as required

  • Identify hazards and report incidents or near misses promptly

  • Ensure all staff wear correct PPE at all times


Candidate Requirements

Essential



  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role

  • Background in recycling, waste, manufacturing, or industrial environments

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures

  • Ability to work long shifts in a fast‑paced environment


Desirable



  • Experience within a recycling or waste management site

  • FLT or plant machinery experience (training may be provided)
