Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Help shape brighter futures. Lead with care, compassion and purpose.

This isn’t just any leadership role. It’s one where you’ll help children and young people feel seen, heard and valued, perhaps for the first time in their lives.

At CrossReach, we’re proud of our longstanding commitment to relational, therapeutic care. As a Team Leader in our Children and Families Services, you’ll guide a small cluster of residential houses and support a dedicated team of Mentors to make each day safer, calmer and more hopeful for those in our care.

You’ll be based at Finniescroft Farm, with the flexibility to support other houses in the area, depending on where your leadership is most needed. This role is offered initially for a period of twelve months, although this could be extended due to the ongoing demand for our services.

Whether you’re planning staff rotas with care, supporting through challenging behaviour, or ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time, your leadership will be the thread that holds it all together.

This role could be for you if you...

  • Are experienced in care or education and passionate about therapeutic approaches
  • Believe in including children and young people in decisions that affect them
  • Can confidently model values like playfulness, curiosity and empathy (we use the PACE model in everyday practice)
  • Understand attachment and relational trauma, and how positive adult relationships can help heal
  • Know how to lead a team with kindness, clarity and structure
  • Hold or are working towards the SSSC-accepted qualifications (HNC and SVQ Level 3 in Social Care)
  • Must hold a full UK manual driving licence

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting a cluster of 2 or 3 residential homes alongside your Service Leader
  • Mentoring and supervising staff, encouraging their growth and resilience
  • Being part of the on-call rota and providing out-of-hours support when needed
  • Ensuring care and education plans are robust, person-centred and inclusive
  • Keeping things running smoothly, from safeguarding and case management to rotas, budgets and reviews

Why this role matters:
The children and young people we support often come to us with experiences of exclusion, trauma or broken trust. Your leadership won't just shape a team. It will help shape a more stable, connected life for every child who walks through our doors.

If you’re ready to step into a role that is as demanding as it is meaningful, where faith, professionalism and purpose come together, we’d love to hear from you.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
