Team Leader – Customs Process Administration

Overview

Are you a natural leader with a keen eye for detail and a passion for process improvement? We’re partnering with a leading customs services provider in Felixstowe to find a Team Leader for their Customs Process Administration team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role within a dynamic and growing business that plays a vital part in international trade compliance.

As Team Leader, you’ll oversee a team responsible for processing SCDP Supplementary Declarations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll support the team’s development, drive continuous improvement, and act as a key liaison between internal departments and clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a team of Customs Process Administrators, ensuring high performance and adherence to SLAs and SOPs
  • Oversee the accurate and timely completion of customs entries and month-end checks
  • Monitor and improve internal processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to team members
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve issues and maintain compliance with HMRC regulations
  • Support audits and maintain CFSP Authorisation standards
  • Champion continuous improvement and contribute to digital innovation initiatives
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within an office environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A detail-oriented and methodical approach to work
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members
  • Basic Excel skills and a willingness to learn new systems
  • Shipping or customs experience is beneficial but not essential
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
