Job description

Job Title: Team Leader

Salary: £27,000 plus overtime and sleep-ins

Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift: Early 7:00am - 4:00pm, Late 4:00pm - 10:00pm

Location: Strood

About the Role

Our Team Leaders ensure the delivery of high-standard, person-centered care. They work hands-on with their team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a positive working environment. Effective communication and relationship-building skills are essential, including liaising with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. Knowledge and experience in administering medication and managing challenging situations are required. The role involves maintaining accurate service user and staff records. Ideally, candidates will have prior experience leading a team within a care setting for people with autism.

Meet The Team

River Drive is a purpose-built service supporting three adults with autism, with shared communal spaces and individual rooms. Residents enjoy various activities, including theatre trips, visits to wildlife parks, and outings to the coast. We value supporting individuals to be involved in all aspects of their lives and encourage active participation. The team enjoys social activities like coffee catch-ups and spa visits.

Responsibilities
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in care/support roles
  • Driving a mobility or service vehicle (manual license essential)
  • Supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff; identifying training needs
  • Managing finances in accordance with policies
  • Effective communication with families and stakeholders
  • Supporting community activities
  • Maintaining accurate records

  • Upholding privacy, confidentiality, and dignity
  • Supporting personal care and household tasks
  • Managing challenging behaviors and supporting individuals with additional needs
