Job summary

EMR Group is seeking a Team Leader to drive daily operations in a heavy industrial setting in the UK. You will lead operational teams, promote a Safety First culture, coordinate resources and monitor inventory to meet production targets.

The role focuses on hands-on leadership, continuous improvement, effective coaching, and rapid decision-making to support a fast-paced yard environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure materials are processed, graded, stored and housekeeping is maintained.
• Monitor stock movements and support inventory accuracy and control.
• Drive continuous improvement to maximise yard efficiency and performance.
• Provide direction, coaching and performance feedback to team members.
• Support training and development to maintain skills and qualifications.

About Our Opportunity:

The role of a Team Leader at EMR Group is broad in its requirements and provides a challenging but rewarding working environment. Supporting the Daily Operations inthe Shredder.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Lead by example in promoting a Safety First culture, ensuring all activities are conducted in line with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Organise, lead, and develop operational teams to achieve production, safety, quality, and performance targets.
• Coordinate plant, equipment, and labour resources to ensure the efficient delivery of daily operational objectives.
• Ensure materials are processed, graded, and stored correctly whilst maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the yard.
• Monitor stock movements and support effective stock control processes to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximise yard efficiency, productivity, and operational performance.
• Provide clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback to team members to support their development and performance.
• Support and encourage ongoing training and development, ensuring team members maintain the skills and qualifications required for their roles.
• Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making within a fast-paced operational environment.
