Job summary

Pret A Manger team leader in Dundee is sought to support and coach the shop and kitchen teams, helping staff reach their potential and uphold Pret standards. You will lead by example, assign duties, and provide ongoing feedback to sustain high performance in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on role requires effective communication between front-of-house and kitchen teams to deliver excellent service, maintain food quality and safety, and drive shop profitability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Marketplace orders are prepared promptly and accurately.

• Follow the 11-Step Production Process to guarantee safety and correct labelling.
• Follow Production Principles, putting customers first and maintaining quality.
• Use How to Cards to deliver Pret standards.
• Carry out Line Checks and act on improvements.
• Avoid MTS rejects on display in Langars.
• Develop the team’s knowledge about food and coffee quality.
• Ensure Barista drinks are made by trained staff to the highest standard.
• Maintain Food Safety and Health & Safety standards.
• Monitor and record all safety checks.
• Take immediate corrective action on issues affecting customers or sales.
• Keep shop clean, safe and equipment well maintained.
• Practice MBWA to monitor Pret Standards and view the shop from customers’ eyes.
• Demonstrate due diligence and report quality issues.
• Maximise sales, labour efficiency and profit using forecasting, rota, ordering & production.
• Order accurately to match business needs.
• Lead and follow up on Mystery Shopper requirements.
• Ensure stock control via the 7 Steps of Unaccounted.
• Follow Pret Financial Standards to minimise risk and ensure safety.
• Follow merchandising guidelines and marketing to drive sales.
• Support successful food launches.
• Encourage clear communication between kitchen and FOH.
• Support Marketplace opportunities.

• Ensure How to Cards are used and followed consistently to deliver Pret standards
• Ensure Line Checks are carried out successfully and any improvement needs actioned
• To ensure no Made to Sell (MTS) rejects are on display in our Langars
• To continually develop the team’s knowledge about the quality of our food and coffee
• To ensure our Barista Prepared Drinks are made by trained employees consistently, and to the highest standard

WELL-LOVED SHOP

• To make sure Food Safety and Health & Safety Standards areconsistently followed to maintain the safety of the team and customers
• To ensure that all safety checks are correctly monitored and recorded
• To take corrective action immediately on issues that affect customers, the team or sales
• To ensure the shop is clean, safe and the equipment is always well maintained
• To follow the Managing by Walking Around (MBWA)principles,proactively monitoring Pret Standards and seeing the shop through thecustomers’ eyes
• To demonstrate due diligence and report and escape any quality issues

SHOP PROFITABILITY

• To maximise sales, labour efficiency and profit through the support of the Big 4 (Forecasting, Rota, Ordering& Production)
• Carry out ordering accurately and in line with the business needs
• Lead, monitor and follow up on Mystery Shopper requirements
• To ensure good stock control by following the 7 Steps of Unaccounted
• To ensure Pret’s Financial Standards are always followed to minimise risks and ensure team safety
• To always follow merchandising guidelines and to ensure marketing is used effectively to drive sales

GROWING SALES
