Job description

Is your current role feeling a bit stale? Looking for the next step in your career? A change in work environment? I am currently working with a leading Horticulture business who are looking for a team leader to join their dynamic Operations team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a market-leading, customer-focused company that supplies high-quality plants to the wholesale market. With multiple nurseries across the region, this company is well-respected in the industry and prides itself on delivering excellence.

The Role

As the Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of their operation process, overseeing quality, efficiency, and daily operations. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Preparing the potting machine for daily use
  2. Ensuring health and safety policies are followed
  3. Overseeing potting quality and efficiency
  4. Carrying out monthly stock checks
  5. Completing admin tasks related to potting
  6. Driving efficiencies and meeting daily targets
  7. Performing routine machinery maintenance
  8. Accurately capturing labour and production data

What they are looking for

If you have read this far you are probably ticking the boxes already. I am looking for someone who can lead the way- be approachable, a hands-on leader who can support and guide their team while keeping everything running smoothly. You should have some experience in a production or supervisory role, but more importantly, you should be practical, proactive, and willing to take ownership of the role.

Skills with machinery are essential, as you'll be expected to learn and operate potting equipment confidently. If you have a forklift licence, that's a big plus - but if not, training can be provided. A keen eye for quality and care when handling products is also key, as ensuring products are handled correctly makes all the difference.

If you already have knowledge or a passion for flowers and plants, even better! An interest in horticulture will be a huge advantage in understanding the process and maintaining high standards.

If you're looking for a role where you can lead, motivate, and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you!
