The Organisation

In this Housing Team Leader opportunity in Chesterfield, you will join a charity helping vulnerable young people gain access to temporary accommodation due to homelessness. The role involves helping customers manage their finances to maintain their tenancy long-term while leading and developing a team of frontline workers.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a small caseload of clients in temporary accommodation, assisting with housing support and benefit applications, especially for those with complex needs.
• Undertaking supervisions for staff, monitoring targets, KPIs, and performance.
• Supporting tenants in paying rent and service charges, including financial advice.
• Promoting independence among tenants in temporary accommodation.
• Maintaining health and safety procedures on site to ensure safety for all customers and staff.
• Creating staff rotas and managing sickness and absence records.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in supported housing or homelessness services.
• Previous experience in a senior or team leader role.
• Flexibility to work between 8 am and 8 pm during weekdays.
• Experience working as a Team Leader or Senior Support Worker, with the ability to travel across Chesterfield.
• Valid DBS clearance for child and adult work issued within the last 12 months or on the update service.
