Job summary

National Care Group is recruiting a Team Leader for Cornerstones Palmarium in the UK. The role includes leading staff, ensuring person-centred support for individuals with learning disabilities, and maintaining daily living skills within a supportive community.

The position offers paid training, access to Stream for financial wellbeing, and opportunities for career development. You will work up to 40 hours per week in a role focused on dignity and respect for service users.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Driving licence essential.
  • 6 months in a Team Leader role preferred.
  • Safeguarding awareness in line with procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for staff management and development.
  • Leading the staff in promoting wellbeing, safety and quality of life.
  • Monitor and direct delivery of activities addressing client goals and wellbeing measures.
  • Coordinate liaison with external parties to ensure effective communication.
  • Work in line with company values, policies and procedures and national standards.
  • Meet annual objectives and participate in on-call duties.
  • Report safeguarding concerns as required.

Pay rate: £13.36 per hour/ £27,788.80 per annum (based on 40 hours per week)

Working Hours: Up to 40 hours per week

Service: Cornerstones Palmarium

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to join our team at Cornerstones Palmarium.

At Cornerstones, we provide Supported Living support to individualswith learning disabilities, ASD and who may present behaviours that challenge. Support is focussed around developing and maintaining daily living skills, and support to ensure they engage with the local and wider community.

We ensure that support is provided to individuals in the most person-centred way possible, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect and have meaningful choice and control in their lives every day.

The Team Leader Role

As a Team Leader, you will promote and ensure that the company vision of person-centred support is implemented whilst maintaining an individual’s potential and independence. You will be the front-line manager, whilst also ensuring all necessary back office duties are completed within compliance.

A Team Leader is required to respect and work cooperatively with others, enabling the people we support to live in their own home or within their local community with dignity and confidence. Responsibilities include:

Overall responsibility for staff management and staff development.

Leading the staff in promoting each individuals well-being, safety and quality of life.

Monitor and assist the effective delivery of group and individual activities within homes that address agreed client goals and the progress of individuals against agreed outcome and well-being measures.

Ensure that liaison with external parties within their areas of responsibility is coordinated effectively to ensure that communication is effective and consistent within the home.

Work in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, legislation and national minimum standards.

Meet agreed individual annual objectives.

Promote each individuals well-being, safety and quality of life

Responsibility for completing and reviewing internal quality compliance systems

Participate in on call duties

The most important qualities needed are the ability to treat others with respect, listen to their needs and understand their emotions. Be Kind, friendly and honest.

The Ideal Candidate

Has experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Able to motivate and manage a team.

Ideally has 6 months experience in a Team Leader Role

Driving Licence essential as you will be travelling across our services.
