Job summary

Highgate Care is seeking a Team Leader for Beechwood Care Centre in Bridlington. You will lead a small, compassionate team to provide truly person-centred care, ensuring dignity and thriving for residents.

The role requires warmth, energy and creativity, with flexibility for some evenings and weekends. Beechwood Care Centre offers a friendly environment with ongoing training and opportunities for progression within the group.

Qualifications

  • Warm, approachable and positive personality.
  • Organised, reliable and confident in leading a team.
  • Creative and able to motivate others.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of older people.
  • Able to work across some evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • NVQ Level 3 or willing to work towards this.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home and to the best interests of Residents.
  • Take responsibility for Resident care in the absence of the Home Manager.
  • Assess social and health care needs of new Residents and review others.
  • Report ill-health and arrange GP/Professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality and dietary needs are met.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and maintain records per policies.
  • Maintain individualised Care Plans and bi-annual reviews.
  • Practice maximum integrity in residents' personal and financial affairs.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Ensure that all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home, and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of Residents.

  • Take responsibility for Resident care, as designated by the Home Manager in his / her absence and the absence of the Deputy Home Manager.

  • Assess social and health care needs of new Residents, and maintain on-going assessment and review of all other Residents.

  • Report any ill-health amongst Residents and make requests for GP / Professional visits where necessary.

  • Ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that Resident's dietary needs are met.

  • Administer prescribed medicines and maintain the appropriate records in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that each Resident within the Home has an individualised Care Plan. Resident Care Plans to be reviewed on a bi-annual basis, or more frequently as and when required, in line with the Company’s policies and procedures

  • Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents' personal and financial affairs and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with Residents.
