Customer Team Leader
Location: The Co-operative Food, High Street, Barnsley, S71 4RF
Pay: £13.65 per hour
Contract: 22 to 30 hours per week + regular overtime, permanent part time
Working pattern: 4 to 5 varied shifts including early mornings starting from 4am, afternoons, late evenings until 10pm, and weekends, to be discussed at interview.

We’re looking for Customer Team Leaders to join our team at Co-op.

As a Customer Team Leader, you’ll be part of a friendly team dedicated to helping our customers. You will lead the store team—coaching and supervising Customer Team Members, deputising for the Store Manager, delivering excellent customer service, and performing tasks like re-stocking shelves and cleaning spillages.

What you’ll do
- Provide friendly, welcoming, helpful service, including support at the post office counter and in the bakery, often managing the store and handling challenging situations.
- Develop your team’s skills through coaching and training, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is valued.
- Ensure the store remains safe, legal, and fully operational.
- Manage diligence checks and stock accuracy to enhance customer shopping experience.
- Support your store manager by deputising and managing HR processes.
- Lead the introduction of new products and services, encouraging team feedback.
- Build relationships within the community and support local initiatives.
