Job summary

Templeton House Care Home in Ayr is recruiting a Team Leader to drive day-to-day care delivery, lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred support. You will work with nursing and management to uphold standards, regulatory compliance and company policies.

You will oversee care planning, medication administration, documentation and risk management, acting as a role model for best practices and staff development to sustain a high-performing service.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
• Medication administration training with competency is required.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team is essential.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and supervise care staff to ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
• Coordinate care delivery, including care planning and documentation.
• Oversee medication administration and risk management to meet regulatory standards.
• Promote best practices, staff development, and a culture of dignity and accountability.
• Contribute to audits, reviews and continuous service improvement.

Team Leader Contract

• £15.00 per hour
• Contracted to 33 - 38.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day to day leadership and delivery of care within the home, ensuring residents receive safe, high quality and person centred support at all times. Working alongside the nursing and management team, you will help maintain standards, support compliance and ensure best practice is consistently followed.

You will lead shifts, supervise and support care staff, and take responsibility for the coordination of care delivery. This includes overseeing care planning, medication administration, documentation and risk management, ensuring all practices align with regulatory requirements and organisational standards.

You will act as a role model within the team, promoting positive working practices, supporting staff development and ensuring a culture of respect, dignity and accountability. You will also contribute to audits, reviews and continuous improvement, helping to maintain a well run and high performing service.
