Provide's Community Paediatric Audiology Service in Chelmsford is seeking a Lead Paediatric Audiologist to help deliver hearing assessments for babies and children from 7 months and above, while shaping the service for the future.

You will provide clinical leadership, operational management and expert audiological knowledge to ensure safe, patient-centred care.

The role offers opportunities to develop services across community settings and work with families to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake audiological assessments for babies over 7 months, children and adults following BSA procedures and national guidance.
• Interpret diagnostic findings and develop appropriate management plans.
• Analyse information from medical history, otoscopic examination and audiological results.
• Deliver rehabilitation and counselling to patients and families affected by hearing loss and tinnitus.
• Participate in peer review, clinical audit and quality improvement activities.
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Paediatric Audiology Service, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and efficient clinic utilisation.
• Undertake line management responsibilities, including one-to-one meetings, supervision, performance management and annual appraisals.
• Develop and implement service improvement plans in line with organisational and national priorities.
• Manage the department's clinical timetable, ensuring capacity is maximised whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care.
• Investigate and manage patient concerns and complaints in accordance with organisational procedures.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Paediatric Audiologist to join our dedicated Community Paediatric Audiology Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality hearing assessment services for babies and children aged 7 months and above, while helping to shape and develop the service for the future.

As Lead Paediatric Audiologist, you will support the Operational Lead in delivering a safe, effective and patient-centred service. You will provide clinical leadership, operational management and specialist audiological expertise, ensuring children and their families receive the highest standard of care.

About the Service

Our Community Paediatric Audiology Service provides diagnostic hearing assessments for babies and children over the age of 7 months.

Main duties of the job

• Undertake audiological assessment of babies aged over 7 months, children and adults in accordance with British Society of Audiology (BSA) recommended procedures and national guidance.
• Practice autonomously as a registered professional, interpreting diagnostic findings and developing appropriate management plans.
