Job description

Make a Real Difference as a Band 6 Community Nurse in Tunbridge Wells!

Are you an experienced nurse looking for a rewarding role where you can truly impact patients' lives and empower them to thrive in their own homes?

We're seeking passionate and skilled Band 6 Community Nurses to join our dynamic teams at Abbey Court in Tunbridge Wells.

Our service operates 7 days a week from 8 am – 6 pm. These extended working hours allow for more flexible working arrangements. Weekend work is generally on a 1:4 ratio with dedicated days off during the week to support work-life balance.

There are two teams supporting patients registered with GP practices in Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas, supporting the Tunbridge Wells Primary Care network.

Each team has two senior nurses responsible for specific geographical areas, providing clinical leadership to Band 5, Band 4, and Band 3 staff. The team collaborates to manage caseloads and deliver high-quality services.

We're looking for experienced and dedicated nurses with relevant clinical skills who are ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of community nursing.

Candidates interested in moving into community settings with advanced clinical skills or expertise will be considered. KCHFT supports development, so candidates without the specialist District Nurse qualification or a recognized advanced clinical skills/module will be considered for trainee posts.

Using the named nurse model, we aim to allow nurses to spend more time with patients, promoting self-management and improving lives.

You will need a full UK driving licence and your own car, but mileage costs can be claimed, and NHS car lease options are available after probation.

Join us to make a real difference. The current climate has given us the opportunity to rethink service delivery at KCHFT.

Rated ‘outstanding’ by the CQC, we are committed to high standards of patient care and community health improvement. We seek outstanding people who share our values: compassionate, aspirational, responsive, and excellent.

We value diversity and inclusion, believing they lead to better patient care and a happier workforce. We encourage applications from varied backgrounds and experiences.

We collect data on protected characteristics to ensure equitable access to opportunities and to support our goal of being a Great Place to Work.

As a flexible working organization, we support arrangements that suit both staff and patients. Discuss flexible options with us.

Many roles require driving; candidates must confirm possession of a full UK driving licence. If unable to drive due to disability, please contact us for support.

The job description and person specification provide all necessary details. Please review them carefully and demonstrate how you meet the criteria in your application. Contact our recruitment team if alternative application formats are needed.

If you have questions, the recruiting manager is available to assist. Apply promptly as roles may close early due to high interest.

We encourage vaccination among colleagues in contact with patients to ensure safety.
