Job summary

ACTIVATE team within Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides highly specialist assessment and intervention for adults with CFS and persistent pain.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to lead clinical delivery, provide advanced assessment, formulation and therapy, and supervise colleagues within a multidisciplinary team. The post develops services across community MSK pathways and liaises with consultants and GP colleagues.

Qualifications

• Lead highly specialist psychological assessments for CFS/Persistent Pain using interview and psychometric methods.
• Provide treatment, advice and management including 1:1 and group sessions.
• Offer supervision and consultation to other team members.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.
• Lead development and delivery of psychosocial interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of highly specialist psychological assessments for CFS/Persistent Pain using interview and formal psychometrics.
• Lead the development and delivery of treatment, advice and management using a range of psychological or biopsychosocial interventions including 1:1 and group sessions.
• Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment and treatment in line with service policies.
• Undertake risk assessment and provide guidance on risk management.
• Provide specialist advice and consultation to GP practices, MSK services and local pain services.
• Deliver psycho-educational group programmes for CFS or persistent pain.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships within the ACTIVATE team to support patient care planning.
