Job description

Applications are invited for a Band 3 Team Administrator to provide a comprehensive secretarial administration and information service across the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Team, and coordinate their activities with other members of the administration team to ensure an efficient and confidential service is provided.

The post holder will be aligned to the SPCMHT, covering the North Lancs & South Cumbria locality based at East Barn in Lancaster, but is required to provide ad hoc remote cross cover to other administrative teams within the service as directed by their Administration Line Manager to ensure continuity of service provision.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receive, allocate, and dispatch internal/external mail in line with the Trust policy.
  • Provide a comprehensive customer service and enquiry provision to internal and external customers of the Trust.
  • Provide a comprehensive administrative service, including minute taking, compiling reports, and other correspondence on behalf of the team manager and other members of the team.
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, internal and external, across the whole health economy.
  • Work collaboratively with management teams and other departments, including clinicians, to ensure that leads are notified in the case of matters of urgency and dealt with in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will require a mature, flexible approach and the ability to work within a busy team. They will be expected to use their own initiative and work unsupervised to ensure the effective coordination of duties.

Evidence of good general education is essential, together with good communication skills and excellent organization ability. Knowledge of working with the NHS will be an advantage, and computer skills are essential.
