Job description

About the School - Charterhouse Square
Charterhouse Square is a non-selective, co-educational independent school based in the City of London for students aged 3-11 years. The school has excellent transport links, with the Elizabeth line, Farringdon mainline and Barbican tube all within a 5-minute walk. With a friendly and unpretentious approach, Charterhouse Square School offers education from Nursery and Early Years through to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

At Charterhouse Square School we believe a happy and stimulating learning environment is fundamental to academic success. Students achieve exceptional academic results at 11+ from a broad and balanced curriculum, with a strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy but with ample time also dedicated to physical education and the arts.

About the role
As a Teaching & Wrap Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and social development of our pupils. Working closely with the class teacher, you will assist in the delivery of engaging learning experiences while helping to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 11. Your responsibilities will encompass providing one-on-one support to individual students, aiding in group activities, and implementing strategies to enhance each child's learning journey. In the after-school setting, you will contribute to safe, creative play activities, ensuring that every child's needs are met. Your role will be central to fostering a positive atmosphere where children feel valued and inspired.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a September 2025 start date.

Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual who has a genuine love for working with young children. You will have good basic education to GCSE level in literacy and numeracy, or the equivalent. You should also possess excellent communication and organisational skills along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ideally, you will have experience supporting children with diverse needs and a good understanding of child development. A relevant qualification in Education or Childcare and a First Aid certificate are advantageous but not essential. If you are proactive, reliable, and committed to promoting children's wellbeing, we would love to hear from you.
