GLF Schools seeks an ambitious, dynamic, and innovative Teaching School Hub Assistant Director to work with us on a fixed-term maternity cover contract from August 25 to August 26. This role could be offered part-time from 3 days to full-time, and secondments would be considered where candidates have the pre-approval of their Headteacher.
This Associate fixed-term contract requires someone with QTS and some experience supporting the professional development of school-based colleagues.
The Assistant Director of the Teaching School Hub (TSH) will play an essential role in delivering high-quality teacher development initiatives across West Sussex. This position will be responsible for several key areas within the Teaching School Hub framework, contributing to the strategic and operational development of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Early Career Teacher (ECT) development, and supporting National Professional Qualifications (NPQs).
Teaching School Hubs (TSHs) are school-led centres of excellence in professional development, delivering training and support to teachers and school leaders at every stage of their career. TSHs deliver the 'golden thread' reforms and are at the forefront of the national professional development infrastructure. They play a significant role in delivering the Early Career Framework (ECF), National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), school-based Initial Teacher Training (ITT), and have a role in signing off early career teachers' induction.

This is a fixed-term contract from August 25 to the end of August 26, to cover a maternity leave. This leadership role will work flexibly across all TSH streams of work, with specific elements to be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their experience.
GLF currently has 35 primary and 8 secondary schools across areas including Oxfordshire, Wokingham, Surrey, Croydon, and West Sussex.

GLF Schools offers a generous employment package including:
Start date: August 25
Contract type: Fixed term until August 26, for 41 weeks (39 term-time weeks + 2 weeks negotiable). Extension possible depending on funding.
Hours: 3-5 days a week, flexible with Friday as a core day. Secondments paid to the employing school with prior approval.
Location: Head Office (The Beacon School, Banstead) / Agile. Travel to Teaching School West Sussex and GLF Trust Schools required, with travel paid.
Pay Scale: GLF Associate pay L1-FTE £51,255 to £54,134
