Job description

Fixed term until 1 June 2026

This role will be based on the University campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Do you have exceptional skills in supporting adults from diverse backgrounds to develop their numeracy and maths skills? Do you have relevant experience in delivering maths support to adults, perhaps in a further education setting?

The Lifelong Learning Centre (LLC) works with mature and part-time undergraduate and foundation-year learners across the University, especially where this enables participation of people from groups that are under-represented in higher education. Our mission includes supporting adults with few formal qualifications who are applying to the University.

You will work collaboratively with existing maths tutors, the academic skills and outreach teams. Your role will include i) support for applicants preparing for pre-entry maths matriculation exams; ii) delivering bridging and outreach provision for adults considering university; iii) providing on course support for undergraduate students; iv) developing online self paced maths resources.

You will need to be enthusiastic and innovative in working with adult learners to promote a positive attitude towards maths using a range of pedagogies, with the ability to develop and collate materials which support independent learning
