Teaching Assistants - SEN

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a primary school catering to children aged 4 – 11 years with complex learning difficulties. We are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants or individuals willing to learn!

All children at the school have severe learning difficulties, with many having associated disabilities such as autism, speech and language disorders, and challenging behaviour. Every child has an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Position: Full-time Teaching Assistants
Location: Southampton
Start date: ASAP

We are looking to fill these roles with long-term or permanent placements. Candidates should be based in Southampton or willing to travel there.

To be considered, you should:

  1. Have experience supporting children with special educational needs or be willing to learn.
  2. Be empathetic and nurturing.
  3. Be capable of managing varying levels of challenging behaviour.
  4. Be adaptable and able to think on your feet.
