We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and proactive Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team at School Name , a specialist setting for children and young people aged 5-16 with a range of needs including:

  • BESD (Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties)
  • EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans)
  • SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
  • Neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, OCD, etc.)
  • PRU experience (Pupil Referral Unit)
  • Mental Health challenges (Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, etc.)

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our pupils succeed - both academically and personally - by providing individualised support and building positive, trusting relationships.

About the Role:

  • Work closely with teachers to support pupils' learning, behaviour, and emotional needs.
  • Deliver tailored interventions and adapt activities to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to engage and progress.
  • Help create a calm, therapeutic, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the delivery of EHCP targets and contribute to progress reviews.
  • Act as a key adult for pupils, offering encouragement, structure, and emotional support.

We are looking for Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, youth work, care, sports coaching, mentoring, etc.).
  • Are nurturing, patient, and able to build strong relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Are resilient and calm under pressure, using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Have excellent teamwork and communication skills.
