An educational institution seeks dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants for a permanent position. You will support children with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism, in both specialist classrooms and mainstream settings. This rewarding role requires flexibility, reliability, and commitment to inclusive practices.

Term Time + 5 PD Days
Scale 2 (Level 2) £12.60 – £12.65 per hour
Scale 3 (Level 3) £12.85 – £13.05 per hour
Start Date: 1st September 2025 (subject to Safer Recruitment checks)
Haughton School is a primary special educational needs provision for children with moderate / complex learning difficulties. Children also have additional needs that may relate to communication & interaction difficulties, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, sensory and physical / medical needs.
The Haughton Hub at Hollinswood Primary School is a specialist provision meeting the needs of children with communication and interaction difficulties, the majority of whom have a diagnosis of Autism and an associated learning difficulty.
We are looking for dynamic, energetic, flexible, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who are committed to an inclusive approach.Your role will be to support teachers and children within the specialist classroom and in their inclusion in the mainstream setting where appropriate.You will be committed to providing the best opportunities for our rewarding but sometimes challenging group of learners and ensuring every child is supported to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidates will demonstrate a sound understanding of the specialist approaches that work best with children who have difficulties associated with communication and interaction and in particular, Autism.They will be able to evidence their knowledge, skills and experience in successfully supporting these children to reach their potential within an educational setting.
A flexible approach, a sense of humour, reliability, punctuality, stamina, resilience, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
