About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Number of Positions: 3
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Salary: £24,404 - £25,183 per annum

We have exciting opportunities for Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN to join our team at Grange School.

We’re looking for:

  • Three Teaching Assistants Level 1 SEN eligible to work in the UK, supporting pupils in the classroom and through interventions, and attending to personal needs such as social, pastoral, and physical hygiene.
  • Applicants should have a basic understanding of child development and learning, with excellent numeracy and literacy skills, qualified to level 2 or higher.
  • They should demonstrate tact and diplomacy to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and external agencies. Experience with children with communication or complex learning difficulties is highly desirable.

This role offers the chance to work in a Special Educational Needs School, supporting students under the supervision of teachers and being part of a dedicated team providing exceptional education.

Main purpose of the job:

Support teaching and learning across the school, assisting in managing pupils and resources, under supervision of teachers and leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with small groups of children and implementing Individual Learning Plans.
  • Providing feedback on children’s progress and maintaining records.
  • Supervising pupils in short periods when teachers are absent.
  • Supporting diversity and ensuring equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Participating in training to develop relevant strategies and ensure student progress.
  • Supporting performance management and professional development.
  • Effective communication in spoken English is essential.
