Job summary

Ivy Resource Group is seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a Gloucester-based Alternative Provisions in Gloucester to support KS3 and KS4 learners. The role involves working with staff to engage students, build confidence, and foster positive relationships throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• At least 30 days' experience working with children or young people.
• Experience supporting students with additional needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.
• No formal qualifications are required—experience, enthusiasm and commitment are what matter.
• A compassionate, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support KS3 and KS4 students throughout the school day, both in and out of the classroom.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students access learning.
• Assist with off-site educational activities and trips where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help create a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
• Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions around student progress and wellbeing.
• Liaise with parents and carers when appropriate.

Salary: £90 - £115 per day (Holiday Pay – 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot)

The Role
