Appointment of a Grade 5 Teaching Assistant – Ty Calon Provision

Temporary 1-year contract

Salary Scale: Grade 5

(32.5 hours per week for 39 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint a Grade 5 Teaching Assistant to join the Ty Calon Provision at Whitchurch High School. This is a temporary position for 1 year, starting in September 2025.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and the ability to work effectively as part of a large, supportive team, under the direction of the Ty Calon Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

•Supporting teaching and learning within the Ty Calon Provision.

• Supervising Ty Calon classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring that:

o Good order is maintained.

o Pupils remain on task and engaged in their learning.

This role will, in some circumstances, involve working with children and young people who require support for mobility needs and personal hygiene support.
