Job summary

Sandwich Infant is seeking a term-time teaching assistant to work 27.5 hours per week in a Year 6 class, with a 1:1 pupil support role. The position starts 12th October 2026 or as soon as possible and runs for a fixed term.

The role also includes a 30-minute midday supervisor duty each day. A good standard of English, ICT and Maths is required, and NVQ 2 or equivalent is desirable. The school emphasises safeguarding and a supportive team environment.

Job description

We are looking to appoint aterm timeteaching assistant (27.5 hours per week). This is a temporary position in the first instance, with a start date of 12th October 2026 or as soon as possible.

The post will initially be in a Year6 class including supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis. You would need to have a good standard of English, ICT and Maths and an NVQ 2 or equivalent would be desirable.

In addition each teaching assistant is also employed as a midday supervisor for 30 minutes per day.

A willingness to work as part of a hardworking team as well as a healthy sense of humour are also desirable attributes.
