We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant role at a fantastic, OFSTED-rated Good school in S11. This temp-to-perm position offers a unique opportunity to work in a thriving school environment and, after a successful probation period, transition into a permanent role.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to the class teacher, assisting with lesson delivery and helping students to achieve their full potential. You will work closely with students of varying abilities, providing tailored support to ensure every child’s learning needs are met. This is a temp-to-perm role, giving you the opportunity to make a lasting impact while working in a supportive, high-performing school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and supporting the learning of students.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs.
  • Help with the preparation and organization of learning materials and resources.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and senior leadership.
  • Work alongside other teaching staff to implement interventions and strategies for student success.
  • Engage with parents and carers to support student development and communication.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • A passion for education and working with children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Ability to adapt to various teaching environments and provide effective support across different subjects.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare qualifications, or equivalent) are a plus.
