Salary Range: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: After Easter 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking an adaptable Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming secondary school in the coastal market town of Alford straight after the Easter break.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching team to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting both students and staff to ensure effective teaching and learning. Whether guiding lower‑ability pupils through core subjects, assisting with behaviour regulation, or preparing resources for practical lessons, you will be an indispensable partner to teaching staff while developing a rich portfolio of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted academic or pastoral interventions under teacher direction.
• Reinforce lesson objectives, adapt materials, and scaffold tasks for diverse learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience through clear, consistent routines.
• Prepare, organise, and maintain classroom resources and displays.
• Record pupil progress and relay key observations to teachers and the SENCo.
• Uphold safeguarding and inclusion policies, ensuring a safe, respectful environment for all.

Job Requirements:

• Recent experience working with children or young people (school, club, tuition, or care setting).
• Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) passes in English and Mathematics; CACHE Level 2/3 or similar TA qualification welcomed but not essential.
• Confident communication skills and a calm, patient manner.
• Adaptability to move between subjects and year groups as timetables demand.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
