Job summary

The Clare School in Norwich is seeking enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants to work with pupils who have a wide range of learning, physical, sensory, communication and medical needs.

You will assist pupils with their learning activities, support engagement in lessons, and foster independence. Hours are 08:45 to 15:45 daily (term time plus 1 week) with negotiations. Tours of the school are encouraged; informal discussion with Emma Collins is welcome.

Qualifications

• Has NVQ level 2 in teaching assistant or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Is reliable and trustworthy.
• Has an exemplary attendance record.
• Has a positive attitude with a 'can do' approach.
• Is caring and committed to the highest standards of support for our pupils.

Responsibilities

• You will assist pupils with their learning activities and support them to engage in the curriculum and classroom lessons.
• You will be kind and patient, enabling our pupils to achieve to their highest ability. You will provide help and support, but foster independence wherever possible.
• You will role model a love for learning and show enthusiasm for working with our children and young people.
