Job summary

Salesian School in Chertsey is seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to support teaching staff and pupils across the 11–18 age range. If you are energetic, enthusiastic, caring and enjoy working with children, we would be delighted to hear from you.

You will need basic IT skills, the ability to follow instructions, plan and prioritise tasks, explain instructions clearly, motivate pupils to learn and maintain confidential pupil records.

Qualifications

• Basic IT skills and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to plan and prioritise regular and irregular tasks.
• Ability to explain instructions clearly to pupils.
• Good communication with pupils and ability to motivate them to learn.
• Maintain confidentiality of pupil information and records.
• Assist with organising the learning environment and routine classroom tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff with lessons and pupil activities.
• Clarify and explain instructions to pupils as directed by teachers.
• Maintain pupil files and records with care and confidentiality.
• Help with the organisation and setup of the learning environment.
• Undertake routine tasks under the direction of a teacher and support pupils in learning.
