Job description

Stirchley Primary School is looking to appoint a suitably qualified, hardworking, enthusiastic teaching assistant to work in our friendly and welcoming school.

The position involves supporting our breakfast club in the morning starting at 7.30am, lunchtime duties, and classroom cover until 2.30pm.

The successful candidate should be prepared to work across all three Key Stages if needed: Foundation, KS1, and KS2.

Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with children, staff, and parents. A qualification to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and a good standard of education are required. Staff are expected to work their hours on INSET days; holidays during term time are not permitted.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All staff and volunteers must undergo relevant safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check, including a Children's Barring List Check. Hours: 31 hours per week, Term Time only.

Grade: Grade 2, Points 3-8 (£24,027 - £25,992 per annum) – Actual Salary: £17,918 - £19,383 per annum.

Location: Stirchley Primary School, Pershore Road, Stirchley, Birmingham, B30 2JL.
