About the Role
To work under the instruction / guidance of teaching / senior staff to undertake work / care / support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils, and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area.

To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education and ethos as a Christian school.

To guide pupils to become independent young adults. To work as part of the whole school teaching and learning team to ensure progress and reflective learning.

This role will involve contact with children and as such you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The school’s safeguarding policy must be followed at all times.

Personal Qualities
Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent or higher) relating to working and supporting children.

Demonstrate levels of numeracy and literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C).

Effective communicator. Effective interpersonal skills.

Effective organisational and administrative skills.

Professional reliability re attendance, punctuality and deadlines.

Ability to meet deadlines/manage time with competing deadlines.

Able to organise the classroom activities e.g. preparing and setting out resources and implementing strategies for Teaching and Learning.

Ability to provide a good role model to young pupils.

Ability to use own initiative and work flexibly.
