Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for daily supply at a specialist school in Newham, East London. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD, PMLD and other complex needs, including personal care where needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience with SEN, be comfortable supporting non-verbal pupils using PECS or Makaton, and demonstrate reliability and adaptability in fast-changing classrooms. DBS update service preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is essential.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD, PMLD or complex learning difficulties.
• Comfortable providing personal care where required.
• Confident supporting pupils with communication difficulties and challenging behaviour.
• Patient, proactive, reliable and adaptable.
• Able to work confidently in different classrooms with minimal notice.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Encourage pupil engagement, independence and social development.
• Adapt quickly to different classrooms, routines and individual pupil needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD, PMLD & Complex Needs

Remedy Education is currently recruiting for experienced and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to provide daily supply cover at a specialist SEN school based in Newham, East London.

The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), complex learning needs and communication difficulties.

This is a fantastic opportunity for SEN Teaching Assistants looking for flexible work, whether you are available 1-2 days a week or looking for regular supply opportunities.

We are looking for candidates who are confident working with pupils with complex needs and can adapt quickly to different classrooms and learning environments.
